The short version
- We collect what you type into the application, plus how you use the site, to review your application, book your call and improve the site.
- We only make session recordings (replays of how you used a page) if you allow it. What you type into the form is hidden in them.
- A few service providers help us run the site: PostHog (analytics), Calendly (booking), the tools that store applications, and our website host.
- We don't sell your personal information for money, and we never share your phone number or text opt-in for anyone's marketing.
- If you're under 18, the application ends before it asks for any contact details.
- Email us any time to see, fix or delete your information. You can also turn analytics or recordings off below.
1. Who we are
This site is run by Ayomide Hakeem, who runs The Creator Protocol mentorship for UGC creators ("we", "us"). We decide how your information is used. This policy covers this website, the application, the booking pages, and the emails and texts we send about your application. It doesn't cover the mentorship itself after you join (your membership agreement does), Discord, or other sites we link to.
2. What we collect
What you give us
- Contact details: your name, email, phone number and Instagram or TikTok handle.
- Your text-message choice, with the date and the exact wording you agreed to.
- Your application answers: whether you're 18 or older, how many paid brand deals you've done, what you make from UGC each month (as a range), what else is on your plate (job, school, business), hours per week, what's holding you back, whether you've paid for coaching before, your 90-day goal, your portfolio link, who decides with you, how much you could invest (as a range) and whether a payment plan would work.
- After you apply: links to your videos, the brands you'd like to work with and what you want feedback on (only if you fill in those optional forms), and the call time you pick.
- Emails and messages you send us.
We save your contact details as soon as you finish that step of the application, even if you don't finish the rest, so we can follow up about it.
What's collected automatically
- Device and connection: IP address, browser, device type, screen size, language, and approximate location worked out from your IP address (such as country, region, city and postal code).
- How you use the site: pages you view, buttons and links you click, where on the page you click, tap and move your mouse (for heatmaps), clicks that don't respond, how far you scroll, how much of a video you watch, page speed and errors, and how you move through the application, including which multiple-choice answers you pick. For typed answers we only record whether you filled them in and how long they are, not the text.
- Session recordings, only if you allow them. See section 5.
- Where you came from: the website that sent you here and any campaign tags or ad click IDs in the link (for example utm_source=tiktok, fbclid, ttclid or gclid).
From other services
- Calendly tells us about the call you book: the time, your time zone, and any reschedule or cancellation.
3. How we use it
- To review your application and decide whether the mentorship is a fit.
- To contact you about your application and your call, by email, phone, or text if you opted in.
- To book your call, send reminders and prepare for it.
- To understand how people use the site and fix what isn't working, for example where people stop filling in the application.
- To send occasional updates, such as free training or news that applications have reopened (every update email has an unsubscribe link).
- To measure which posts, platforms and ads bring people here.
- To keep the site secure and keep out spam and bots.
- To meet legal obligations and protect our rights.
If you join, we use your information to run your membership under your membership agreement.
4. How the application picks your next step
The site checks a few of your answers (your age, whether you've done paid brand deals, what you could invest and whether a payment plan would work) and sends you to your next step straight away: booking a call, our waitlist, or our free resources. If you say you're under 18, the application ends at that question. Decisions are final.
5. Analytics and session recordings
We use PostHog to understand how people use this site. It records the activity listed under "What's collected automatically".
Session recordings are a reconstruction of the page and your scrolling, taps, clicks and mouse movements, plus technical details such as which addresses the page loaded and any error messages. We watch them to see where people get confused. We only record you if you tap "Allow" on the notice at the bottom of the page, and you can change your mind below. If you tell us you're under 18, we stop recording that browser.
- Everything you type into a form field is hidden in recordings, and so is your name wherever we show it back to you. The booking calendar, your call time and the booking page's address (which contains your name and email) are kept out of recordings. Your multiple-choice answers can be seen.
- When you finish the contact step, we link your activity on this site to your email address, so we can see your application and visit together. PostHog then holds your name, email and handle.
- PostHog acts as our service provider and stores this data in the United States.
Session recordings on this browser: Not allowed
All analytics on this browser: On
Turning analytics off stops PostHog, session recordings and ad-platform events on this site for this browser, and stops our server adding a summary of your application to PostHog. Your choices are saved in your browser, so you'll need to set them again on another device or after clearing your browser data. A browser extension that blocks PostHog stops the tracking in your browser, but not that server summary; the switch stops both. The site works either way.
6. Who we share it with
We share your information with service providers that help us run the site and the mentorship, only for that purpose:
- PostHog, for analytics and session recordings.
- Calendly, for booking. If you're offered a call, we send Calendly your name, email, application ID and the campaign tags from your visit. We send your phone number too if you opted in to text reminders or the call is a phone call.
- The tools that store applications: a spreadsheet or CRM, and the automation service that sends applications to it. They receive your contact details, answers and campaign tags.
- Our website host (Netlify or Vercel), which runs the site and keeps short-lived server logs that include IP addresses.
- Email and text-message providers we use to contact you.
- Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, when needed.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of selling or reorganising the business (the new owner would have to follow this policy).
If you join our free Discord, what you share there is governed by Discord's policies.
We don't sell your personal information for money. Advertising pixels, if we use them, are described next.
7. Advertising and tracking across sites
We may advertise on Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and Google, including YouTube. When we do, we may add those platforms' pixels to this site to see which ads bring people here. A pixel can tell the platform that a visitor reached a step such as starting the application or booking a call. We never send them your application answers or video views, and we'll ask for your consent before any pixel runs. Pixels never run for anyone who tells us they're under 18.
These platforms may use their own cookies to collect information about your activity on this and other sites over time, and use it to measure and target ads under their own privacy policies. To limit this, turn on Global Privacy Control (see section 11), use the analytics switch above, or use these opt-outs: Meta ad preferences, Google My Ad Center, TikTok's ad settings in the app, the DAA opt-out and the NAI opt-out. Google explains how it uses data from sites like ours here.
PostHog only collects information about your activity on this site, not on other sites.
8. Text messages
If you tick the text box on the application, we use your number to send application updates and call reminders, ourselves or through Calendly or another provider on our behalf. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop or HELP for help, or email us to opt out. Opting in is never required to apply or to buy anything.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share your phone number and text opt-in only with the service providers that store applications, book your call and send our texts for us (our application spreadsheet or CRM and the automation that feeds it, Calendly, and our text provider). They can't use it for anything else.
9. Emails
We email you about your application and your call. We may also send occasional updates, such as free training or news that applications have reopened. Every update email has an unsubscribe link, and we honour it.
10. Cookies and browser storage
The site stores small pieces of information in your browser:
- Your application draft, so a refresh doesn't wipe your progress. It's deleted when you submit, and the next time you open the site if you haven't worked on it for 7 days.
- Where you came from (campaign tags and the page you landed on), so we know which post or ad brought you here. It's used for 90 days, then replaced the next time you visit.
- Details for the next page, such as your name and booking link. These are cleared when you close the tab. If your browser blocks storage, they travel in the page address instead, so don't share that address.
- PostHog's cookie and storage (kept up to a year), which give your browser an ID so visits can be counted and linked together. Once you finish the contact step, that ID is your email address.
- Your choices about recordings and analytics, light or dark mode, and whether you told us you're under 18.
- That you've applied and which next step you were given (no answers or contact details), for 30 days, so the decision stays final.
You can clear these at any time in your browser settings. Blocking them won't stop you applying.
11. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
There's no agreed standard for browsers' "Do Not Track" signal, so the site doesn't change what it does when it receives one. Use the switches above instead.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, this site doesn't load advertising pixels or send them events for your visit.
12. How long we keep it
- Applications, including unfinished ones, and the analytics linked to your email: up to 24 months after we last heard from you, then deleted, or sooner if you ask.
- Members: for the length of the membership, and up to 7 years after for tax, accounting and legal reasons.
- Text-message consent and opt-out records: 5 years, so we can show you agreed.
- Session recordings: deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Other analytics data (not linked to your email): kept by PostHog for up to 7 years, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
- Server logs at our website host: kept for a short time by the host.
13. Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can email us to:
- see the information we hold about you;
- correct it, or update your application;
- delete it, including your analytics data and session recordings;
- stop texts (reply STOP) or update emails (use the unsubscribe link).
Email us with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We'll reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm it's you, usually by asking you to reply from the email you applied with. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.
We don't sell personal information for money. Some state laws may treat advertising pixels as "sharing" personal information or "targeted advertising"; to opt out, turn on Global Privacy Control or use the analytics switch above. We don't knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
- California: you can review and change the information you gave us by emailing us, as above.
- Nevada: we don't sell covered information as Nevada law defines it. You can still send an opt-out request to our email.
- Canada: you can withdraw consent, or access and correct your information, by emailing us.
- EU and UK: we use your information to take the steps you ask for before a possible contract (your application and call), because of our legitimate interest in running, securing and improving the site (basic analytics), and with your consent (session recordings and texts, and advertising pixels if we add them), which you can withdraw at any time. You also have the rights to restrict or object to our use of your information and to get a copy of it in a portable format, and to complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
14. Children and under-18s
The mentorship is only for adults (18+). Our free resources are for anyone 13 or older; this site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
The application asks your age before it asks for any contact details. If you say you're under 18, the application ends there: we don't ask for your contact details, and the few answers you'd already given stay in our analytics linked to an ID for your browser and your approximate location, not to your name or contact details. That browser then gets no session recordings or advertising pixels. Email us and we'll delete those answers.
If you'd already sent us contact details and then tell us you're under 18, we delete them, including our analytics record, within 30 days. If we learn we've received personal information from someone under 18 any other way, we'll delete it within 30 days. Parents can email us about this.
15. Security
We use reasonable safeguards for the information we hold, such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), booking links sent only to applicants who qualify, booking passes that are signed and expire, access limited to the people who need it, and service providers bound by their terms to protect data. No website or transmission is completely secure, so we can't guarantee it. If a breach affects your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
16. Where your information is processed
We and our service providers are based in, or store data in, the United States. If you visit from another country, your information is processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from yours. Where the law requires safeguards for these transfers, we rely on our providers' data protection terms, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
17. Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when what we collect or how we use it changes, and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also put a notice on the home page and email applicants and members whose information we hold before it takes effect.
18. Contact us
Questions, requests or complaints about your information: email us.
